The Advancing Course builds on Expansion I and II by taking your mediumship to the next level and preparing you to work with the public. Over this 10-month course, you will deepen your understanding of the professional presentation of a reading, develop a consistent and confident approach to your sittings, and advance the specificity within your evidence and messages.

The Advancing Course builds on Expansion I and II by taking your mediumship to the next level and preparing you to work with the public. Over this 10-month course, you will deepen your understanding of the professional presentation of a reading, develop a consistent and confident approach to your sittings, and advance the specificity within your evidence and messages.
In the first 5 months, we will focus on one of the following 5 areas: presentation, confident approach, specifics, messages, and troubleshooting public readings

Students will have lecture and exercises mixed in for the first 3 weeks and the final week will be a monitored public reading
▾
In the last 5 months, you will be required to do 3 independent public readings weekly, which will be organized by Oakbridge Institute for each student
▾
These recorded readings will then be discussed, reviewed, and assessed in our weekly sessions based on student questions.

Modules
Module 1 - Presentation
In month 1, we will focus on presentation. This month will help you to provide a professional and positive experience for your sitters. We will discuss how to set up your reading for the best results, gauging the need of your sitter and how to respond, and how to keep your readings on track and on time. In this month, we will focus on:

Month 2: Confident Approach
In month 2, we will focus on on developing a consistent and confident approach to your readings. How we enter into a communication with the Spirit World is everything! By developing your own process for connecting to the Spirit World and learning to adjust your frame of mind and energy, you will develop greater consistency and trust in knowing the Spirit World is working with you. In this month, you will:

Discover what process best works for you to connect with the Spirit World

Understand to release tension and anxiety at the beginning of your reading

Get into a relaxed and receptive state of mind
Month 3: Specifics
In month 3, we will focus on deepening our specificity in our mediumship. At this point in your development, we can truly push and stretch what kinds of information you receive. We will focus on consistently receive details such as names, dates, street addresses, passing conditions, and more. You will also learn how to answer direct questions from your sitters. In this month, you will learn:

Month 4: Messages
In month 4, we will focus on evidential messages. Messages can be the most profound part of a reading when they are spirit-led. By learning to connect to the heart of the Spirit Communicator, you will provide meaningful messages that have a healing impact for the Spirit and your sitter. In this month, you will:

Month 5: Troubleshooting Working with the Public
In month 5, we will work on troubleshooting your readings. When working with the public, you never know what you’re going to get! This is your opportunity to learn how to be prepared and gracefully handle any issues that may arise. In month 5, you will:

Learn how to handle skeptical, emotional, or ungrounded sitters

Discover what to do when nothing comes

Create healthy boundaries in your reading

Manage any distractions in your reading

Get answers to questions that arise as you work with the public
Months 6-10: Working with the Public
In months 6-10, we break away from the monthly themed modules and focus on working exclusively with the public. You will be required to do 3, 30-minute public readings per week independently. These sitters will be provided by Oakbridge Institute. Each reading will be recorded so that faculty can support you in any issues or questions that may arise. Through this kind of rigorous reading schedule and constructive feedback, you will advance in your public work as a medium. In the last 5 months, you will:

Gain the practical, hands-on experience of at least 60 public readings

Medium
Michael Mayo
Michael Mayo is an internationally trained medium, astrologer, and spiritual teacher. He developed his mediumship in the United Kingdom under mediums such as Gordon Smith (School of Intuitive Studies) and Eileen Davies (Arthur Findlay College). While developing his mediumship, Michael graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a BA in Psychology and Social Behavior and a BA in Drama.
Michael brings a practical, grounded, and evidential style to his spiritual work. With his passion for teaching and helping others discover their own unique spiritual connection, he has taught and studied in the US, Europe, and Australia. Michael is also a second-generation astrologer with over 20 years of understanding astrological theory. He teaches and holds workshops throughout the United States and abroad; helping others explore and personally develop through the understanding of astrology.
Blending his many spiritual gifts and skills with a practical, grounded results-oriented approach, Michael helps you to discover your strengths, what holds you back and empowers you to discover your own inner strength and grit. Megan Alisa is a medium, educator, and co-founder of Oakbridge Institute. She's been working with the spirit world for over 10 years and studied with Michael Mayo and at the Arthur Findlay College with Eileen Davies in the UK — but what shaped her most was what came after: thousands of readings, direct experience with Spirit, and a commitment to continued growth and development.
